Kumsusan Memorial Palace 錦繡山紀念宮 is the former official residence and office of Kim Il Sung. After his death in 1994 it was transformed into a memorial for the Eternal President, including a mausoleum bathed in rich red light where his body can be viewed. The effect is nothing short of religious. The structure was so massive in scale that we had to be conveyed by escalators inside. No photography was allowed inside.
