Return to Shanghai

It's been 9 months since my last visit. A new skyscraper, the SWFC (left) has opened in Pudong, dwarfing the Jinmao Building (right) which used to be the tallest.


Dinner was followed by a 3-hour massage at Qie Yi Tang 愜意堂. It started with a shoulder and neck massage, followed by reflexology. My knees and foot joints were then covered with copious amounts of warm crushed ginger before being wrapped in hot towels and plastic. (This is a very unflattering angle for my legs.)


After an extensive oil back massage, I was covered with towels, doused with alcohol and set on fire. Repeatedly. What a big finish!
